Putera Sampoerna Foundation Anthem Song

Spread Our Wings

I can dream the impossible
I fear not the obstacles
For if I believe in me
I can make it possible

I’ll shine my light for all to see
For a gem can’t be polished without frictions
Nor man perfected without trials
We all take different paths in life
But no matter where I go
I will safe knowing that
We’re all together in this journey
For we are one big family
There’ll always be time for sharing
And caring for each other,
Even when we are far apart
Like an eagle we spread our wings
Soaring high in the sky of dreams
Always strive to be the very best
And help others to soar as high
We remember the start
We will go through the journey
We will reach the goals
Let’s lend our hands to our brothers and sisters
Let’s make a brighter tomorrow for others
Make their impossible dreams possible
For when we believe, when we are together
We can make a difference

we still fly steadily
when the thunders come
we fly without any fear

Chorus:
Eagle, the king of sky
fly beyond reachable sky
trough the fire of the scream
and nothing can stop us

Eagle, the king of sky
We spread our wings so wide

woooowww.. this anthem is so awesome, right?

Waves - Light and Sound

Light waves
Properties of waves
longitudinal waves à move in the same direction as the medium movement
transverse waves à move at right angles to the medium movement
amplitudeà hight from top to bottom, unit: metre (m)
frequency how many pass each second, unit: hertz (Hz)
wavelength  length from start to end of wave, unit: metre (m)
period  time taken for wave to pass = 1/frequency

Physics exercise
waves transfer energy and information without transferring matter
wave speed = frequency × wavelength
v = f × λ
frequency = 1/ time period
f = 1/ T
waves can be diffracted (spread out) through gaps or when they pass an edge, and
the extent of diffraction depends on the wavelength and the physical dimension of the gap

Christian Doppler
(Discovered the doppler effect)

The electromagnetic spectrum
electromagnetic spectrum goes from longest wavelength -- radio, microwave, infra-red, visible, ultraviolet, X-ray and gamma rays – shortest wavelength
electromagnetic waves travel at the same speed in free space
uses of electromagnetic radiations,
radio waves: broadcasting and communications
microwaves: cooking and satellite transmissions
infra-red: heaters and night vision equipment
visible light: optical fibres and photography
ultraviolet: fluorescent lamps
X-rays: observing the internal structure of objects and materials and medical applications
gamma rays: sterilising food and medical equipment

Detrimental effects of excessive exposure of the human body to electromagnetic waves
microwaves : internal heating of body tissue
infra-red : skin burns
ultraviolet : damage to surface cells and blindness
gamma rays : cancer, mutation

Light
light waves are transverse waves which can be reflected, refracted and diffracted
the angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection
refractive index   n=sin i/sin r
total internal reflection is used in transmitting information along optical fibres
when the angle of incidence is greater than the critical angle c there is total internal reflection
the relationship between critical angle c and refractive index N is  sin c = 1/N

sound
sound waves are longitudinal waves which can be reflected, refracted and diffracted
the frequency range for human hearing is 20 Hz – 20 000 Hz
an oscilloscope and microphone can be used to display a sound wave by converting it to an electrical signal
the pitch of a sound depends on the frequency of vibration
the loudness of a sound depends on the amplitude of vibration

Lunar Eve From Sampoerna Academy Bogor Campus

around 2 weeks ago, my school ~ Sampoerna Academy held lunar eve. any competitions such as modeling, make-up, and stand up comedy.

at that night I join modeling competition. OMG it's so crazy. who pity I'm!

Pencil Warna

weather, climate and natural vegetation ~ IGCSE Geography

the weather station
a weather station is a place where the elements of weather - temperature, humidity, pressure, wind direction and velocity, cloud cover and sunshine are measured and recorded as accurately as possible.

the stevenson screen is a wooden box standing on four legs at a height of about 120cm. the screen is built so that the shade temperature of the air can be measured. the sides of the box have slats (louvers) to allow free entry of air, and the roof is made of double boarding to prevent the sun's heat from reaching the inside of the screen. insulation is further improved by painting the outside of the screen white so as to reflect much of the sun's energy.

instruments kept inside the stevenson screen include a maximum and minimum thermometer and a wet- and dry- bulb thermometer (hygrometer). instruments placed outside the stevenson screen include a rain gouge, a wind vane to determine wind direction, and an anemometer to assess wind speed.

rain gouge is kept well clear of trees and buildings so that only raindrops falling directly from the sky enter the funnel of the gauge. use to measure rainfall and it's consist of a cylindrical copper container.the gauge is placed in an open space so that no runoff from trees or buildings or other object can get into the funnel. the other case is sunk into the ground to prevent the sun's heat from evaporating any of the rain collected in the glass jar.

measurement of air pressure
pressure varies with temperature and altitude, and the instrument that measures pressure is called barometer with millibars of the unit.

a mercury barometer consists of a hollow tube from which the air is extracted before the open end is placed in a bath of mercury. when the pressure of the mercury in the tube balance the pressure of the air on the exposed mercury, the mercury in the tube stop rising.

an aneroid barometer is an instrument that consist of a small metal cylinder which is a vacuum chamber. a barograph is an aneroid barometer which continuously records for one week.

measurement of wind direction and velocity

the speed of the wind is measure by an anemometer, which consist of three or four metal cups fixed to metal arms that rotate freely on a vertical shaft. the number of rotations are recorded on a meter to give the speed of the wind in km/hour.

measurement of temperature
temperature is measured using thermometer. a continuous temperature reading is given by a thermograph.

maximum thermometer
maximum temperature is obtained by reading the scale at the end of the index which was in contact with the mercury.

minimum thermometer
the daily or diurnal temperature range is found by subtracting the minimum temperature from the maximum and minimum.

How is relative humidity measured?
wet- and dry- bulb thermometers are used to measure relative humidity.

Recording the weather
clouds
  • high clouds are usually composed solely of ice crystals and have a base between 5500 and 14,000m (cirrus-white filaments,cirrocumulus-small ripped elements, cirrostratus-transparent sheet often with a halo)
  • medium clouds are usually composed of water droplets or mixture of water droplets and ice crystals, and have a base between 2000 and 7000m (altocumulus,altostratus,nimbostatus)
  • low clouds are usually composed of water droplets, though comolonimbus clouds include ice crystals, and have a base below 2000m (stratocumulus,stratus,cumulus,cumulunimbus)
climate associated with tropical rainforest and hot deserts

the main characteristics of the climate in tropical rainforests include :
1. hot conditions - generally above 26*C- throughout the year
2. high levels of rainfall,often over 2000mm
3. a lack of seasons - the temperatures are high throughout the year
4. the different between daytime and night-time temperatures
5. rainfall is mainly convectional and many fall on as many as 250 days each year
6. cloud cover varies
7. the presence of clouds tends to reduce the amount of heat that is lost at night
8. the humidity is high, and relative humidities of 100% are often reached in the late afternoon
9. wind speeds within the forest are reduced by the large numbers of trees present

hot desert characteristic :
1. very hot days and cold nights, caused by the lack of cloud cover
2. low and irregular amounts of rainfall, which lack any seasonal pattern
3. low levels of humidity for much of the year
4. warm dry winds, sometimes causing sandtorms

Factors affecting climate
Latitude
at the equator the overhead sin is high in the sky, so high-intensity insolation is received.

proximity to the sea
the specific heat capacity is the amount of heat needed to raise the temperature of a body by 1*C.

Ocean currents
the effect of ocean current on temperatures depends upon whether the current is cold and warm.

Altitude
air temperature decreases with increasing altitude.this is because air under the grater pressure of lower altitudes is denser and therefore warmer.

Winds
the effects of the winds on temperature depends on the initial characteristics of the wind

Cloud cover
cloud cover decreases the amount of insolation reaching the surface by reflecting some of it.

Pressure
in low pressure systems air is rising. it may rise high enough to cool,condense and form clouds and rain.

Electrolysis

electrolysis is the process of using electrocity to break down a compound. electrolysis takes place in an electrolytic cell.electrolytic cell consist from battery, electrode and electrolyte.

electrolyte is a molten ionic compound or an aqueous solution that conduct electricity. electrolyte has mobile ion that allow electricity to flow.

electrodes is the solid that conduct electricity and connect the battery to the electrolyte. example carbon, platinum and copper.

solid ionic compounds can't conduct electricity because the ions is solid compounds are held in fixed positions in a lattice and because they are unable to move to conduct electricity.

when electrolysis the external circuit during electrolysis, electrons flow from the negative terminal to the positive terminal of the battery.
>> Cations (+) move towards the cathode (-)
>> Anions (-) move towards the anode (+)

~ at the cathode
 cations receive electrons from the cathode and reduction occurs at the cathode.

~at the anode
anions give up electrons at the anode and oxidation occurs here.

the process of gaining or losing electrons at the electrodes is called discharge. when ions are discharged at the electrodes, they form atoms or molecules.

  • electrolysis of molten sodium chloride
NaCl is binary compound, a binary compound is a compound containing only two elements. when solid sodium chloride is heated strongly, it melts at 801 celcius, it forms mobile Na+ ions and Cl- ions.
 Cathode = Na+ + e- -> Na
 Anode   = 2Cl-        -> Cl2 + 2e-
answer = 2NaCl (l) -> 2Na (l) + Cl2

inert electrodes such as carbon electrodes are used to prevent reactions from occuring between chlorine and the electrode.

  • electrolysis of dilute sodium chloride
NaCl (aq)
cathode = Na+ & H+
anode    = Cl- & OH-

electrolysis of dilute NaCl is essentially the electrolysis of water. since water is being removed , the concentration of NaCl solution increases gradually.

  • Molten NaCl
cathode = Na+ ions discharged
anode = Cl- discharged

  • Dilute NaCl
cathode =H+ ions discharged
anode = OH- discharged
 in the electrolysis of dilute NaCl solution, H+ ions are discharged in preference to Na+ ions

  •  electrolysis of concentrated NaCl
being concentrated,Cl- ions are discharged as chlorine gas. equal volumes of hydrogen gas chlorine gas are produced. the resulting solution becomes alkaline because there are more OH- ions than H+ ions left the solution.
concentrated NaCl = brine

Electrolysis Purification

to purify copper,we perform electrolysis of aqueous copper (II) sulphate, but using copper electrodes. in this case, the electrodes are called reactive electrodes.

Purification of copper

anode= impure copper
cathode= a thin sheet of pure copper
during electrolysis, the impure copper anode dissolves. impurity such as silver and platinum fall to the bottom of the cell, they are called anode slime.

electrolysis - copper plating

anode= pure copper
cathode = the metal object to be copper-plated
electrolyte= aqueous copper (II) sulphate

oxidation

a substance is oxidised if one the following happens after reaction
  • it gains oxygen
  • it loses hyfrogen
  • it loses electrons
  • it increase its oxidation state

Oxidation state

change an atom of an element would have if it existed as an ion in a compound (even if it actually covalently bended)

Rules

1. the oxidation state of a free element is zero
2. the oxidation state of a simple ion is the same as the change on the ion

sekolah mempunyai libur akhir pekan yaitu sabtu dan minggu. mungkin dulu waktu SD dan SMP aku cuman libur hari minggu, api itupun tak seperti libur. mungkin banyak anak-anak mengira ini menyenangkan tapi asal kalian tahu, tidak semenyenangkan yang kalian lihat. setiap sabtu dan minggu kita harus nyuci buat yang punya banyak cucian dan kita harus membuat tugas yang seabrek dan gak elesai-selei. can you imagine that? maybe no now, but if you were here you'll know it

minggu ini disekolahku masih bernuansa Imlek, yap Lunar New Year. malam minggu ini Student Council atau indonesianya nih OSIS buat acara Imlek gitu dari ministry of religion. acaranya tuh fashion show, make-up chinese dan stand-up comedy.hahahha and I joint in fashion show. I know you can't imagine that, but please stay read this post.

inilah kehidupan anak asrama,kalo gak ngerjain tugas ya ngobrol doang kerjaannya. tapi I believe we can pass this moments. keep going and go ehead !
wow, I get task from my sociology teacher, that is make mind map for chapter 4 and chapter 5. you know? sociology is very difficult to learn. why? because I think sociology is like philosophy. it's make me crazy, right?

but, no problems. I will do it because sociology make me more know about how to make good socialitation with other people.

Comunity Service

Last Satuday my group community service came to 'Rumah Singgah Gesang' at there we meet many children. I love children very much. that is temporary place for children to play and learn. but some children at there not school and the others have less education. but, I think and I believe they have potential to the future.

the first thing that we did is make a group that consist around 5 children in a group, because any 40 children at there. all of my member group is girls and two boys, the girls are grade 4,5 and 6 and the boys are preschoolers.

around 30 minutes they make biography. after that we play together with all of children, the game is 'Konsentrasi' yeah that game is needed concentration to think a name of their friend at there in a limited time. it's very happy because we laugh together.

at 5 p.m we leave them, they are very happy after play with us, and me too. on they way we are very tired but happy. it's make my life more colorful and I know more about life.

beside that, many children that was I meet have a wrong perspective about life, they think all is needs money and money is everything. I hope after we give motivation for them, they can change that mind. they just a child, and child's life just to study and play not think about money. I hope this community service can change that

today agenda at assembly is make biography, oh my God.
and this is my biography, check it out!SO LOL!

Selama sekolah disini hampir satu tahun, saya sangat banyak mendapatkan pelajaran, baik akademik maupun pelajaran hidup.
Dahulu, seperti kebanyakan anak-anak.
